The Young Reds played their first "competitive" games when the Under 10's took part in the Forth Valley Football Development Association Football Festival in Grangemouth. Considering the children were up against teams older and more experienced, they acquited themselves well. In total they played 5 games, scored only 2 goals and conceded 33, but 14 of these were in one game where the opposition certainly didn't play the match in the true spirit of the FVFDA.
However, we hope the boys have learned something from the afternoon and now know what to expect in the league next season. The weather and the long grass didn't help but there were a lot of positives to be taken.
Tomorrow, the Under 12's pit their wits against Castleview, Langtoon, Dunblane and Riverside.
Action starts at 2-00 at Little Kerse.
Finally, the boys looked the part with the new strips provided by the website. Hopefully, I'll get a picture on the website in the next few days.
