Full Version: Young Reds Parents Evening

Coach
The Young Reds will be holding a Parent's Evening on 14th February in the Castle Suite at Forthbank. Although it is being called a Parent's Evening, it is open to anyone who has an interest in developing youth football at Stirling Albion as the Young Reds intend to enter a 7 a side team in the Under 12 league run by the Forth Valley Football Development Association.
At the meeting Scott Kinross, Football Development Officer for Active Stirling, and Alan Morgan, Youth Football Manager for Sport Central, will give a presentation and Stuart Taylor, Head of Youth Development at Stirling Albion, will also be present as we see this as the start of developing future players for the club.
The meeting will also hear the plans to re-introduce the midweek Soccer Sevens. The Young Reds will need adults who are either coaches or would be willing to train to be coaches to help run this.
A newsletter is being sent out to present and past Young Reds but, if anyone would like further information, they can contact me.

Originally we had planned to have them on Thursdays to avoid clashing with any midweek matches. Unfortunately, the astroturf is fully booked up to the end of March so, for the moment, the Soccer Sevens will be on Tuesdays starting 6th March and running to the end of May with a 2 week break at the beginning of April. This will give us 11 weeks and time, hopefully, to get a team, or teams, in place for next season.
Coach
Just a reminder that the meeting is this Wednesday at 7-00p.m. There is still time to put your name down but would be pleased if anyone interested in coming along could let me know before Wednesday.
The signs are hopeful that we will be able to start a team next season but we need to know how many people would be willing to help.

I'll be coming along tonight, although I'm not sure how much I'll be able to help out.
Coach
Not wishing to say too much ahead of a final decision on what we will be doing next season but the turn out tonight was very pleasing. The meeting heard the Young Reds' plans and how it will, hopefully, tie in with the Albion youth scheme. Stewart Taylor talked about the success of the current youth scheme and how it has provided 7 players for the present first team squad. We have had a good response to our plea for help with coaching and 4 parents are doing the Early Touches Course this weekend.

We will now be sitting down to evaluate what has come out of the meeting and more information will be sent out to all interested parties as soon as possible.

No chance of making it tonight as I was working, but it would be good to hear more details when possible. beer.gif

I'll give you a copy of the slide show which we had tonight. It basically contains all the information we gave out.
