Alright folks,

It looks like the date for the 2007 POTY dance will be Friday 11th May, 2007, and this has been provisionally booked.

The only issue here is that is slap bang in the middle of the playoffs, and there's every chance we might be involved.

Thing is, there's very few other days available, and we've no chance of getting a Saturday at the present venue of McQue's.

If it goes ahead on this day, and we're still involved, it's likely there will be no players present on the night.

The date has not been confirmed as yet, so any ideas from the people here will be considered as to an alternative solution.

Cheers

Surely the solution is to look at a different venue that would accomodate us for the best date. Why would you let the dance be dictated by a venue. Even if ticket prices went up I'm sure the majority would rather pay more than have a non player of the year dance.

What Poj said.

I think the players are all going away on holiday on the 18th May-dont quote me though.

Theres no guarantee we'll be in the playoffs.

It's not even as if we can have it on the Friday before the last game, as it's away to Stranraer, and with the best will in the world, travelling in the bus down to Stranraer after a dance is just not on. laugh.gif

The Scottish Cup Final is 26th May so does that mean we might not have a team if we make it to the final. hahaha.gif hahaha.gif hahaha.gif

Any suggestions? There's very few places in around Stirling that would cater for this sort of thing.

As an update.

The 11th hasn't been totally decided yet, but we discussed having the dance after the last home game of the season, on the Saturday night after the Brechin game. It's unlikely we'll get McQue's to ourselves on a Saturday night, but we're going to ask.

Thoughts?

We also discussed the possibility of another venue, but there really isn't anywhere else. Everywhere else is either too big or too small. For the amount of people who go, McQue's is the perfect size.
