The re-launch of the Young Reds Soccer School in February 2007 has culminated in the award of the SFA Quality Mark Standard Level. The Certificate was presented to Young Reds Co-ordinators, Steven Leiper and Ian Jones, by SFA Chief Executive, Gordon Smith, at half time at today's Scottish cup tie against Partick Thistle.
The award is the result of almost 2 years hard work by coaches, volunteers and children.
The SFA Quality Mark is the "Youth Action Plan" initiative which helps to support and sustain grass roots football. Through the Quality Mark, the SFA will promote the role of clubs and schools to braoden community participation and to enhance player, coach and volunteer development and best practice.
The Young Reds has achieved the required standard for Standard Level through the hard work of coaches who have attended various courses to get the necessary qualifications, attendance at workshops and the starting up of teams playing in the Forth Valley Development League.
Next step is Development Level. To achieve this, the Young Reds will need to start up more teams and plans are already being formed to do this.
The award also brings some benefits to the Young Reds which will help us in our plans to expand.

Don't know about lonely but he'll be glad to have someone to blame their poor results on instead of him carrying the can

Might be too late. The under 12's have won their last 2 matches just as they go into the mid season break.
